Details
Finishing router bits produce a smooth and visually appealing surface finish on the material. They work best when following a roughing cutter.
Down cut refers to the direction of the flute. As the router bit grooves, slots and cuts the chips are forced Downwards. Therefore, the best finish is on the topside of the cut part. The downwards chip flow also assists in holding the material in place. However, feed speeds should be reduced due to the increase of pressure on the tool.
